Shiroyama is a roughly 90 m hill in the Futamata district of Tenryū Ward, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, occupied by the ruins of the Sengoku-period mountain castle Futamata Castle. Built on a natural stronghold above the Tenryū River, it was contested by the Imagawa, Tokugawa, Takeda and Toyotomi clans; it was a battleground between the Tokugawa and Takeda in 1572–75, and in 1579 Tokugawa Ieyasu's heir Matsudaira Nobuyasu took his own life here. With surviving keep base, stone walls and earthworks, it forms—together with the Tobayama Castle ruins—a nationally designated historic site. It appears in the "Ultra-Low Mountains of Mikawa and Enshū."
