Otake is a 979 m active stratovolcano on Nakanoshima in Toshima Village, Kagoshima Prefecture. The highest peak of the Tokara Islands, it is known as Tokara Fuji for its symmetrical shape. Mud was expelled from a summit fumarole in 1914, and fumaroles occur in the summit crater and on the southeastern slopes. Tokara horses, a prefectural natural monument, graze at its base.
