A 310-meter peak, the highest summit on Kumejima Island, Kumejima Town, Okinawa Prefecture. The Uegusuku Castle Ruins (a nationally designated historic site) crown its summit — the highest-elevation Ryukyuan castle in Okinawa, where excavated Chinese ceramics testify to the island's role as a 15th-century trading port. Streams and wetlands rising from the mountain form part of a Ramsar-listed habitat hosting the endemic Kikuzato sawa-snake, and the summit affords a 360-degree panorama over the island and the East China Sea. Listed in Shimayama Hyakusen.
