Mt. Toumeiyama

Tōmeiyama is a 171 m mountain on Kamishima island in Toba City, Mie Prefecture, and the island's highest point. It bears a first-class triangulation point and, for its shapely form, is nicknamed "Toba Fuji." Kamishima is famous as the setting of Yukio Mishima's novel "The Sound of Waves," and the peak lies on the island-circuit hiking course of the Kinki Nature Trail. Within Ise-Shima National Park, it is selected for the "Island Mountains 100" and the "Mountains of Mie Prefecture" guide.
