Mt. Shiratoriyama

Mt. Shiratoriyama is a 1,639.2 m peak at the tri-border of Yatsushiro City and Mizukami Village in Kumamoto Prefecture and Shiiba Village in Miyazaki Prefecture, in the southern Kyushu Mountains. It is counted among the Kyushu Hyakumeizan, Kumamoto Hyakumeizan, and Miyazaki Hyakuzan. Just north of the summit lies Mi-ike, a moss-covered wetland surrounded by old-growth forest, in the Gokanoshō area associated with Heike refugee legends.
