Mt. Sannouzan

Mt. Sannouzan, also known as Odake, is a 439.2 m peak in the central part of Nakadōri Island, Shinkamigotō Town, Nagasaki Prefecture — the second-highest summit in the Kamigotō islands after Mt. Bandake. According to local tradition, the priest Saichō dedicated a Sannō Gongen here in thanks for a safe passage to Tang China, and three shrines now stand at the foot, the eighth station, and the summit. Two pilgrim trails climb from Arakawa and Imari, and the summit deck commands views of Nakadōri's deeply indented coast. The mountain is one of the Shima-yama 100 and lies within Saikai National Park.
