Mt. Nagusa

Mt. Nagusa is a 228.7 m low peak in the southeastern outskirts of Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture. Halfway up its slope sits the second temple of the Saigoku Sanjūsansho pilgrimage, Kimii-dera, whose three spring waters — Kichijō, Shōjō, and Yōryū — collectively known as Mii-sui are listed among Japan's 100 Best Waters. The mountain takes its name from the goddess Nagusa-hime tied to the area's founding legend, and from Kainan City the silhouette appears to form the kanji 山. The peak is featured in the Wakayama Prefecture Mountain Guide.
