Mount Umanori

Mount Umanori is a 500.3 m peak in Yamano-cho, Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The mountain is the focus of long-standing local worship centred on the Iwaya Gongen shrine just below the summit and the Umanori Kannon, an eleven-faced thousand-armed Kannon, at the top. Built in 1041, the Kannon hall is known for prayers for fertility and safe childbirth, and offers views of the Seto Inland Sea and mountains of Shikoku.
