Mount Seki is a 618 m peak in Sekibe, Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, an isolated summit at the south-western tip of the Abukuma Range. The Mangan-ji temple at its top is said to have been founded around 730 by the priest Gyōki at Emperor Shōmu's request, and the poet Matsuo Bashō is recorded as having climbed it. The summit Kannon-do hall looks across the Nasu Range and Mount Bandai, with Mount Fuji visible on the clearest days. The peak features in the Utsukushima Hyakumeizan and the Fukushima 30, and Shirakawa City marks its season open with a yamabiraki rite in late March.
