Mount Osuzu is a 1,405.2 m peak straddling Tsuno and Kijō towns in Koyu District, Miyazaki Prefecture, the highest summit of the Osuzu Range in the eastern Kyūshū mountains. It carries a first-order triangulation marker and is listed in the Nihon Nihyaku Meizan, the Ittō-Sankakuten Hyakumeizan, the Kyūshū Hyakumeizan, and the Miyazaki Hyakuzan. The mountain holds more than thirty named waterfalls, including the 73 m Yatogi Falls (one of Japan's 100 Famous Waterfalls) and the 75 m Shirataki Falls; in 1944 the Osuzu Falls Group became Japan's first such cluster designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty. The area is part of Osuzu Prefectural Natural Park. The standard ascent climbs the Amacha-dani drainage on the eastern flank, often combined with the Yatogi Falls path as a loop. Although views from the densely forested summit are limited, the trail draws hikers for spring greenery, autumn colour, and the celebrated waterfall circuit.
