A 235-meter island peak rising at the northern end of Kesennuma Oshima in Kesennuma Bay, Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, within Sanriku Fukko (Reconstruction) National Park. The summit observation deck gives sweeping views over the ria coast of Karakuwa Strait, Uranohama and Tanaka-hama beaches, with Mount Kinkasan visible in the distance. Famous for sunrises, sunsets, fishing-boat lanterns and starry night skies, the peak appeared in the NHK morning drama "Okaeri Mone" and is included in the 100 Famous Island Mountains.
