Mount Asahiyama rises among rice fields, with about 3 hectares of grassland at its summit. Views extend to Matsushima, Kinkasan Island, Kurikoma, Funagata and Zao. Cherry blossoms and azaleas color spring, followed by autumn foliage. Asahiyama Kannon Hall stands partway up the mountain, a popular place for walking and hiking.
