Kanemidake is a 472 m mountain in Miyakonojo, Miyazaki Prefecture, with a sweeping view over the Miyakonojo basin to the Kirishima range and a place on Japan's "100 night views". Its summit forms Kanemidake Park with the heart-shaped Ama-no-Kanayama bell, serves as a hang-gliding and paragliding launch point, and is nationally known for watching the autumn migration of grey-faced buzzards, with an observation event each October. From autumn to spring, the Kirishima range can appear above a sea of clouds.
