A 658 m peak on the boundary of Shimanto and Kuroshio towns, Kochi Prefecture, said to be named after five villages once visible from its summit. It has a first-class triangulation point and a religious history tied to Kobo Daishi. Summit sites include an ascetics’ training ground and wartime aircraft lookout remains. Clear days offer views of the Pacific, Capes Ashizuri and Muroto, and Torigatayama to the north.
