This loop starts at Kasoyama Shrine, passes Senbon Katsura and the Inner Shrine, crosses East and West Tsurugi Peaks and 879 m Mount Ozaku, then returns from Mount Gassan. Mount Ozaku is the sacred body of Kasoyama Shrine, and the route has continuous chain-assisted sections, ladders, and rocky ridges. The Inner Shrine lies beyond Gyōja-gaeshi Rock, and Mount Gassan looks toward the Nikko Mountains.
