This out-and-back route climbs 1,409 m Mount Kunimi from its upper trailhead on the forest road. Mount Kunimi lies between Oboke Gorge and the Iya Valley, is included among the Shikoku 100 Famous Mountains, and is known as the closest panoramic mountain to Oboke Station. The upper trailhead is at about 1,040 m, and even this short approach has exposed rock and narrow sections with fragile ground on the valley side. Watch for ice and snow on the access road in winter.
