From Amakazari Kogen in Otari, this return hike climbs through beech forest, crosses Arasugezawa below the Futonbishi rock wall, and continues over Sasadaira to 1,963.3-metre Mount Amakazari. The summit overlooks the Sea of Japan, Ushiro-Tateyama, Myoko, and Togakushi; below, the Sasadaira trail forms the celebrated Goddess of Amakazari profile. Snow can remain in the ravine into summer, and the ground around it and below the summit is steep and slippery, so check current conditions.
