A 352-meter peak rising near the tip of the Shonai Peninsula in Takuma, Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture. Within a special zone of Setonaikai National Park, the summit observation deck commands one of the prefecture's finest panoramas: the island-studded Inland Sea to the east and the quieter Bisan straits to the west. The crown of the hill holds the remains of a late-Yayoi-period (ca. 2,000 years ago) high-altitude settlement, with its finds displayed at the Shiudeyama Site Museum. Renowned in recent years for spring cherry blossoms and early-summer hydrangeas—and featured by The New York Times and Le Figaro—the peak is listed among the 100 Famous Mountains of Shikoku.
