Mount Daimugen is a 2,329 m peak straddling Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City, and Kawane-honchō, Haibara District, in Shizuoka Prefecture, sitting in the deep southern reaches of the Akaishi (Southern) Alps. It carries a first-order triangulation marker and is listed in the Nihon Nihyaku Meizan, the Ittō-Sankakuten Hyakumeizan, and the Shizuoka 100 Mountains. The summit stands in deep forest and offers limited views, and locals on either side know it by different readings: "Daimukensan" from the Ikawa side, "Ōmugen" from the Sumatakyō side. The standard ascent climbs from Tashiro in Aoi Ward via Komugen-yama on a sustained route with nearly 2,000 m of cumulative gain; a ridge traverse from Sumatakyō Onsen via Asahi-dake also exists. Both are long, lightly maintained routes with limited official information, and the mountain is regarded as an advanced-grade objective.
