From near Happu Campground in Komono, this loop climbs a steep ridge past the Okiku pond, said to give the mountain its name, to the 972 m Mount Miike on the Mie-Shiga border, then descends from Happu Pass along the old Happu Road, with its stone Buddhas, beside the stream. It follows the route once used by merchants travelling between Ise and Omi, and the border ridge looks to Ryugatake and Shakagatake, with rhododendrons in spring and autumn colour.
