From Mizukoshi Pass on the Osaka-Nara border, this loop climbs the Aokuzure Trail through surviving natural forest via the Seto junction to the Kunimi Castle site on Mount Kongo, visits Tenporinji and Katsuragi Shrine with its paired cedars, and descends from the first torii past Hakuundake and the old panorama viewpoint along the Diamond Trail to the pass. Mount Kongo is Osaka's highest mountain, and the descent ridge looks over the Nara Basin.
